Specialized Training

Go Beyond the Basics

At SRT Helicopters we deliver mission-ready training built around real-world operations. Our instructors bring decades of experience in the environments and missions you face — from wildland fire zones to maritime rescues, tactical deployments to utility operations. Every program goes beyond the basics, building the precision, teamwork, and decision-making skills that make the difference when it matters most. We also provide initial and recurrent aircraft courses to meet the needs of your operation.

Experienced Instructors

At SRT, our instructors don’t just teach the mission — they’ve lived it. Each member of our training team brings decades of real-world operational experience in the same environments and mission profiles we train.

Our team includes:

  • Firefighting pilots who have battled wildland and urban interface blazes
  • Law enforcement aircrews who have supported tactical ground teams in high-risk operations
  • Military veterans with combat, rescue, and special operations credentials
  • Utility and SAR pilots who have flown in the most challenging environments on land, at sea, and in extreme weather

This depth of experience means we go far beyond checklists — we train judgment, adaptability, and split-second decision-making that can only be learned from real missions. Our instructors know the difference between theory and execution, and they ensure your crews do, too.

Test Pilot Training

Our test pilot training program prepares experienced aviators for the unique demands of flight testing. Whether evaluating new aircraft, modified systems, or mission-specific equipment, pilots learn to assess performance, identify limitations, and communicate findings with precision. Training emphasizes risk management, data collection, and controlled envelope expansion, ensuring pilots are ready to fly safely at the edge of operational boundaries.
