Flight Instructor

Tony Reid Intro Mountain Course
Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)

Becoming a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) is the most common first step for commercial pilots entering the industry. A CFI certificate not only builds your flight hours but also sharpens your knowledge and flying skills as you teach others. Many employers view CFI time as an essential foundation for a long-term aviation career.

At SRT Helicopters our CFI program is structured to prepare you for more than just the checkride. You’ll learn proven instructional techniques from experienced mentors, build lesson plans that work in real classrooms and cockpits, and gain confidence teaching in a variety of scenarios.

Training Program Highlights:

  • 20 hours of dual flight instruction focused on teaching maneuvers and safety from the instructor’s seat
  • 20–50 hours of ground school covering aviation/rotorcraft principles and instructor techniques
  • Emphasis on developing and delivering effective lesson plans
  • Comprehensive preparation for the practical exam, which includes both oral questioning and flight demonstration
